The one goal is to make a benchmark number better and prove it. Every accepted contribution moves a measured result, or makes a measurement trustworthy where it was not.\n\nIn scope: a reproducible benchmark hill climb; a measured port of a method from the literature; a decisive experimental advancement or refutation; and a fix for an actual reproduced runtime, harness, metric, validator or test-system defect.\n\nOut of scope: trivial fixes, generic improvements, refactors, renames, formatting, comment or documentation cleanup, speculative abstractions, configuration knobs that nothing sets, tests with no demonstrated behavioral risk, and work that spreads across lanes instead of moving one.\n\nThe open lane is `alberta_framework/benchmarks/ipmnist_screening.py`. Do not issue a plan, reserve a seed or start a shard in these lanes without an explicit written maintainer request: the IPMNIST v3 frozen lifecycle; label-permuted EMNIST, slowly-changing regression and continual-IA v2; and forager matched-current and matched-v3. Never resume, import or compare against quarantined or chmod-frozen forager roots.","contributionGuide":"Read root `CLAUDE.md` or `AGENTS.md`, `RESEARCH_STATUS.md` and your lane runbook first.\n\nToolchain: Python 3.12+ and JAX 0.4+ in `.venv`.\n\nRun the open lane with `.venv/bin/python -m alberta_framework.benchmarks.ipmnist_screening` (`run`, `merge`, `validate-proxy`). Check every flag against `--help` and `outputs/ipmnist_screening/RUNBOOK.md` at your commit. `--config-name` accepts only registered arms. A new arm needs its spec plus a bit-exact reduction-pin test that shows it collapses to an existing arm when its mechanism constant is inert.\n\nBudget compute from the recorded `wall_clock_seconds` in existing shards. Pin `OMP_NUM_THREADS=1` per parallel worker. Say in the open what you will run; duplicate runs waste scarce compute. A `micro_continual` win promotes nothing. `rule_discovery` keeps search and holdout seeds and tasks separate.\n\nRules:\n- Benchmarks run through CLIs, never pytest. Tests stay CI-cheap unless registered as a scientific lane.\n- Choose the comparison threshold before the numbers exist.\n- Never auto-promote. Promotion needs a frozen preregistered protocol, untouched held-out seeds, a versioned artifact schema and its strict validator accepting the artifact. A development-grade measurement is permanently nonpromoting.\n- Calibration, development and consumed evidence seeds can never be reused for promotion.\n- Pinned `outputs/` artifacts are immutable. New runs use new paths and schema versions.\n- Editing a registered source file invalidates persisted evidence. Check what a claim registers before you edit; some root documents are hashed into provenance or asserted byte-for-byte by tests.\n- Library changes are failing-test-first. State is frozen chex dataclasses. RNG uses explicit `jr.key(...)` seeds.\n- The elizaOS robot track imports part of `alberta_framework.core`. Keep `alberta_framework/__init__.py` importable, keep `requires-python >= 3.12` and the `numpy >= 1.26` floor, and treat a module deletion as a two-file change.","supportedTasks":"- Review and test current pull requests.\n- Finish mission-aligned open issues through pull requests.\n- Restore `main` workflow health.\n- Hill-climb a continual-RL benchmark against a recorded baseline.\n- Port a method from the literature with a measured comparison.\n- Report a decisive negative result or refutation, recorded with the conventions of `NEGATIVE_RESULTS_LEDGER.md`.\n- Fix a reproduced bug that corrupts a measurement.\n\nAn inconclusive run reported honestly is worth more than a win claimed from noise.","requiredTests":"- Lint: `.venv/bin/python -m ruff check .` (line length 100).\n- Types: `.venv/bin/python -m mypy` (strict, py312).\n- Focused tests: `.venv/bin/python -m pytest tests/<file> -q -o addopts=\"\"`.\n- Evidence registry: `.venv/bin/alberta-evidence-status` (exit 0 accepted, 1 valid rejection or missing, 2 invalid). Exit 2 after registered sources changed is the design working, not a bug to silence.\n\nEvery measured claim carries: the lane and the exact metric; the exact commands with every flag and the commit SHA; the seed list and n, with tuning and evaluation seeds named; baseline and candidate as mean and spread plus the delta, never a single run or best-of-k; the baseline re-measured in the same environment; the artifact paths under `outputs/`, attached as immutable GitHub attachment URLs; the evidence tier; the focused tests and lane verification that ran and their result; every deviation from the pre-registration; and what remains open.\n\nA fair comparison changes one variable. Baseline and candidate share seeds, steps, data order and hardware. A result inside the seed-to-seed spread is not an improvement yet: raise n or report it as inconclusive.","reviewExpectations":"Read `RESEARCH_STATUS.md`, `NEGATIVE_RESULTS_LEDGER.md`, the lane runbook and the issue or discussion that holds the pre-registration. Rerun the stated commands with the stated seeds. Trace the number from its raw artifact under `outputs/`, through its validator, to the summary. Inspect the artifact, not the exit code.\n\nCheck separately:\n- Does the number reproduce, and is it outside the seed-to-seed spread?\n- Was the baseline re-measured in the same environment at a stated commit?\n- Did exactly one variable change?\n- Were tuning and evaluation seeds kept separate, and consumed seeds left alone?\n- Does the outcome match the pre-registered threshold?\n- Is the evidence tier stated honestly?\n- Are pinned artifacts untouched, and validators, thresholds and tests unweakened?\n- For a ported method: does the code match the cited section, are the stated deviations the only ones, and was the paper's own baseline reproduced or its failure reported?\n\nReject or hold: a number without its command, seeds, spread or commit; single-seed or best-of-k claims; a baseline from another environment, machine or commit; tuning on evaluation seeds or reuse of consumed seeds; weakened thresholds, validators or tests; edited, regenerated or deleted pinned artifacts; development-grade numbers shown as promoted; unstated seed, config or protocol changes; a paper claim imported as a measurement made here; and changes with no measured effect.\n\nCredit decisive negative results and measurement fixes, not only wins.","securityContact":"https://github.com/SlopDotCash/asi/security/advisories/new","closurePolicy":"Maintainers do not accept work without a measured effect or a reproduced defect fix, or work that matches the reject list. The repository is the Canonry monorepo: the CLI, the Fastify API, the MCP adapter, the Aero analyst agent and the web dashboard, published to npm as @canonry/canonry. The API is the backbone, the CLI is the primary surface, MCP mirrors both, and the dashboard is supplementary.\n\nIn scope: a demonstrated user- or agent-visible defect, or a maintainer-scoped issue, in answer-engine providers, integrations, metrics or agent workflows, with the API, CLI, MCP and dashboard kept in parity.\n\nOut of scope: coverage farming and tests chosen for an uncovered file; renamed wrappers; speculative guards; version-only bumps; live provider spend without operator approval; and unrelated projects.","contributionGuide":"Read the root `AGENTS.md`, the `AGENTS.md` of every folder you touch, `CONTRIBUTING.md` and `docs/CODEMAP.md`.\n\nBranch from current `main` with Node `>=22.19.0 <27` and pnpm. Record the base and head commits. Do not start live answer-engine sweeps, probes or paid provider calls unless the operator approves the spend; use the repository's fixtures and mocked providers. Never read provider keys or `~/.canonry/config.yaml`.\n\nRules that most often fail review:\n- Vocabulary: `mentioned` (brand in answer text, `answerMentioned`) and `cited` (domain in source links, `citationState`) are separate signals. Never compute one from the other. Branded and non-brand queries never share a denominator.\n- Parity: a new capability ships an API route in `packages/api-routes/`, a CLI command in `packages/canonry/`, and an MCP tool or a documented classification. The UI never computes a metric the API does not return. Simple and Advanced (custom portfolio) paths both work.\n- Contracts: `openapi.ts` is the source of truth; run `pnpm gen` after you change it. Never rename or remove an endpoint path, JSON field or error code. Compare domain values through the enum constants, not raw strings. Put shared pure helpers in `packages/contracts/`.\n- Data: new columns need a new migration version; never edit a shipped one. Probe runs stay out of every aggregate read.\n\nUse a Conventional Commit title and `.github/pull_request_template.md`: 1 to 3 summary bullets, at most 75 words, the completed checklist and brief evidence. Link longer notes and collapse logs. Omit file inventories and implementation diaries. Bump versions only under the root `AGENTS.md` rule, and recheck npm before you push.","supportedTasks":"- Fix a demonstrated user- or agent-visible defect.\n- Complete a maintainer-scoped issue.\n- Improve answer-engine providers, integrations, metrics or agent workflows, with the API, CLI, MCP and dashboard kept in parity.","requiredTests":"Read `.agents/skills/test-audit/SKILL.md` before you select or edit tests. Add regressions at the affected public boundary. Derived numbers assert exact math and the business invariant, including zero, missing and rounding cases, not shape. Defer test execution until changes are final. Then prove that regressions fail on the base and pass on the head for the intended reason.\n\nComplete the `CONTRIBUTING.md` checklist before you open a PR, including a draft:\n- Run `pnpm check` and `pnpm verify` for outside code contributions. Report full test-suite pass, fail and skip totals, full typechecks, type-aware lint and generated-file checks. Focused tests and future CI do not replace these results.\n- Build and smoke-check the affected API, CLI, MCP and UI surfaces, including both Simple and Advanced paths. Follow the packaging checks when they apply.\n- For UI changes, follow the product and design references in `AGENTS.md` and include desktop and mobile, keyboard and before and after screenshot evidence.\n- Review permissions, project boundaries, secrets, untrusted input and provider spend. Record risks and mitigations, or `None identified` with the areas you reviewed.\n- Record the tested SHA, exact commands, results and sanitized evidence. Rerun checks whose inputs changed.\n\nWrite `N/A — <reason>` only under Canonry's docs/comment-only and configuration exceptions. Missing tools, time or credentials are blockers. Do not open a PR with missing required results without an explicit maintainer exception.","reviewExpectations":"Use an isolated sandbox with no provider keys, no `~/.canonry/config.yaml` and no deployment credentials. Never start live provider sweeps or paid calls to verify a claim.\n1. What demonstrated user or agent problem changes? Reject generic coverage, renamed wrappers, speculative guards and unsupported claims.\n2. Are `mentioned` and `cited` still separate, with each label reading its own field? Do branded and non-brand queries keep separate denominators, with the class next to every figure?\n3. Does a new capability reach the API, CLI (`--format json`) and MCP with the same data and authorization, for Simple and Advanced portfolios? Does the UI only render API values?\n4. Is the public contract stable: no renamed or removed endpoint path, JSON field or error code; `openapi.ts` and the generated client in sync; a new migration version, not an edited one; probe runs excluded from aggregate reads?\n5. Does a regression fail on the base and pass on the head? Do derived numbers assert exact math, including zero, missing and rounding cases? A changed literal or self-authored expectation alone is weak evidence.\n6. Could the change spend provider quota on a read path without the paid-read gate, widen an API key's scope, leak credentials or break a reverse-proxy base path?\n7. Does the PR meet `CONTRIBUTING.md` and the PR template, with `pnpm check` and `pnpm verify` results for the submitted head? Checked boxes and future or skipped CI are not enough. Missing required evidence prevents an accept recommendation.\n\nSeparate contributor-reported results, checks you ran, exact-head CI and real-provider behavior. Do not clone the Darwin sources on macOS: APFS is case-insensitive and the tree has case-colliding names.\n\nLayout: `tools/` holds VM harnesses named `fNNN-*` after their finding; `scripts/` holds host staging numbered by stage; `evidence/` holds raw output cited by findings; `report/` holds reports. Entry points: `scripts/00-vm-setup.sh` (VM), `scripts/10-make-corpus.sh` (host), `scripts/30-build.sh [configure|core|all]` (VM), `scripts/20-run-corpus.sh` (VM), `tools/reproduce.sh` (VM).\n\nTraps: `git-lfs` is required, or Swift libraries stage as 130-byte pointer files (F104). A checkout can pick up the unpatched upstream submodule; verify what you built. Flip environment flags in the probe and all seven launchd plists together (see `tools/f109-thread-bridge-discriminator.sh`). Installs, the ~149-submodule clone and builds take tens of minutes to hours; run them in the background.\n\nSince F108, real-runtime drivers keep a failing run's artifacts as `run<N>-artifacts/` and `run<N>-probe.log`. A new driver may never destroy the previous run's evidence.\n\nIn the PR, name the distro, kernel, clang version, VM type and Darling commit, and explain the problem, change, control and validation. Send Darling fixes upstream to `darlinghq/*` under that repository's own policy and link the upstream PR.","supportedTasks":"Work in this order and stop at the first that yields a real outcome:\n1. Does each `FINDINGS.md` number lead to the tool that measured it, and does it reproduce within the stated uncertainty? If not, name the step that diverged and paste the first error.\n- Is there a named control, and how many variables moved?\n- Is a fix backed by A/B/A, and is a trend labelled as a trend?\n- Are the distro, kernel, clang version, VM type, Darling commit and `git-lfs` stated?\n- Could the result be an artifact of the toolchain, the distro or a stale build? Work merely located in the repository is not eligible.\n\nGeneric cleanup, infrastructure, documentation, style, performance, dependency or test work earns no Delta Star share unless the pull request links the exact prize theorem or residual it unblocks and reproduces that downstream effect.\n\nOut of scope: formatting, naming, comment-only cleanup, generated churn, speculative abstractions, vacuous wrappers, duplicate lemmas, and tests that prove no meaningful prize-related mathematical or validator behavior.","contributionGuide":"Read the live `AGENTS.md`, the nearest Proximity Gap guide, `CONTRIBUTING.md` and the frontier documents first. The locked wrapper protects shared `.lake` artifacts, and the Proximity Gap iteration script avoids the large global build lock for every attempt.\n\nDo not hand-edit generated `ArkLib.lean`, `.lake/`, blueprint web or print output, dependency graphs or generated homepage documentation. Add, rename or delete source files deliberately, and stage new paths before validation when the live guide requires generated import discovery.\n\nLarge formalizations need a blueprint and maintainer alignment before extensive implementation. Release infrastructure: CI, build, packaging, deployment or test infrastructure, only when its failure blocks a surface above or makes verification falsely pass or fail.\n\nMaterial outcome: fix a reproduced failure, complete a user-visible flow, restore a required capability, remove a demonstrated reliability or security risk, or produce evidence that changes a concrete engineering decision.\n\nOut of scope: niche plugins, toy agents, examples and experimental connectors with no approved product consumer; formatting, renaming, comment churn and generic cleanup; documentation that is only old, not wrong; speculative guards, fallbacks, caps and timeouts without a proven external contract; one defensive patch repeated across modules; refactors or performance work without a reproduced problem and a measurable target; routine dependency bumps and generated-file churn; and one outcome split into several pull requests.","contributionGuide":"Read in this order: `SECURITY.md` before you handle a suspected vulnerability; root `AGENTS.md` or `CLAUDE.md` and `CONTRIBUTING.md`; the issue or pull request, its linked Project card or design doc, and its acceptance criteria; `AGENTS.md` or `CLAUDE.md` and `README.md` in every package you touch. Inspect manifests, exports, scripts, callers and contract tests before you change a public surface. Live repository instructions win when this guidance drifts.\n\nBefore you start, record privately: the authorized demand, the primary user path, the observed need, the mission surface, the acceptance proof and the duplication check. If any line is vague, stop and clarify. Do not post a claim to buy time.\n\nUse the repository-pinned Bun and Node toolchain. Do not substitute npm, pnpm, Yarn, an older Node runtime or another branch. Run commands from the repository root unless the nearest package guide says otherwise. Set up with `bun install`.\n\nWork on a `feat/`, `fix/`, `docs/` or `chore/` branch that targets `develop`. Never push directly to `develop`. Rebase on `origin/develop` and rerun the relevant verification before final proof. Do not force-push another person's branch.\n\nUse the pull request template `.github/pull_request_template.md`. Keep all seven evidence rows: before screenshots, after screenshots, walkthrough video, backend logs, frontend logs, real-LLM trajectory and domain artifacts. Each row holds concrete evidence or `N/A - <specific reason>`. A checked box or a bare `N/A` is not evidence. After the final push, run `node scripts/pr-evidence.mjs rows <pr> --row ...`.\n\nAttach evidence to the issue or pull request; do not commit it. Upload screenshots as JPG where practical, videos as MP4, and long logs in a `<details>` block. Capture again after a rebase that changes behavior.\n\nCoordinate in Discussions when useful. Record durable decisions on the issue, Project, pull request or repository documentation.","supportedTasks":"Select work in this order:\n1. Finish an open issue that carries the exact `mission-ready` label, or work the operator requests, through a pull request.\n2. Review an open pull request only when the review requests changes that the author must answer before the change is correct. Approvals and reviews that do not change the merged result earn no score.\n3. Restore `develop` workflow health when it blocks a primary surface.\n4. After the authorized issues are handled, run a queue-cleared audit one tier at a time: security, then bugs, then wrong documentation or code comments, then missing real-system verification. Reproduce every finding on a primary path. Finish a concrete higher-tier finding before you move down.\n\nKeep one active contribution at a time and put all work for one outcome in it.","requiredTests":"Run `bun run verify` on the final synced head. Formatting, lint, typecheck, build and broad test suites are required hygiene, but they do not prove that Eliza works.\n\nAcceptance needs proof from a real working product path on a real operating system. Run the applicable E2E flow first. Then run an Eliza scenario through the actual agent, model and tool path. Add a benchmark when the change claims a quality, performance, reliability, latency or resource effect. Exercise every relevant platform; do not infer one platform from another.\n\nMinimum proof by surface:\n- UI: before and after full-page desktop and mobile screenshots, an MP4 walkthrough of the full flow, frontend console and network logs, backend logs when a server path fires, and the repository OCR or visual review.\n- Agent, action, provider, prompt or model: a live-model trajectory with inputs, context, raw output, tool or action calls and results, with the exact provider and model.\n- Native, mobile, desktop or device: current-build proof with per-platform screenshots, recordings, logs and device or simulator output.\n- Server or runtime: structured logs that show the real path end to end and the resulting state.\n- Data or domain: the actual rows, memories, scheduled tasks, files, balances, transaction hashes, audio or device output.\n- Documentation only: focused validation output.\n\nUseful commands: `bun run evidence:doctor -- --strict`, `packages/scenario-runner/bin/eliza-scenarios run <scenario> --report <out.json>`, `bun run test:e2e:record:review`, `bun run test:matrix:review` and `bun run --cwd packages/app audit:app`.\n\nUnit tests are not acceptance evidence. Add one only as a supplemental regression guard after a material failure is reproduced and the fix is proved in the real system. It must run production code against a real contract, without mocks of the system under test.","reviewExpectations":"Apply the three mission gates. Reproduce the old failure or stated need, then exercise the changed path yourself on the relevant operating systems.\n5. Inspect E2E, scenario and benchmark evidence for meaningful assertions and missing negative, role, concurrency and integration cases. Block unit-only or mock-only acceptance claims, and report missing live provider, device or platform evidence as a blocker.\n6. Confirm the branch is current with `origin/develop` and checks ran after the sync.\n7. Open every attached trajectory, log, screenshot, recording and artifact. Look for stale builds, hidden errors, clipped states or a mismatched model identity.\n8. Confirm every template evidence row is concrete or has a specific `N/A` reason.\n9. Its developmental substrate instantiates organisms, records trajectories, saves checkpoints and compares replay results. The goal is a benchmark-quality developmental experiment: start from one computational genome, develop it in different worlds, measure how trajectories diverge, and prove that each history can be checkpointed, replayed, audited and compared.\n\nIn scope: an approved defect, or a material improvement to a required experiment, inside the approved track. The active developmental substrate is `nuros-dev/`, `nuros/` and `experiments/`. The neuromorphic backend is `kernel/`, `core/` and `hal/`.\n\nOut of scope: claims of consciousness or biological equivalence (a successful experiment is not evidence of either); generic coverage; tests that repeat implementation details; and duplicate checkpoint, telemetry or replay systems.","contributionGuide":"Read `CONTRIBUTING.md`, the applicable `AGENTS.md` files, `DEVELOPMENTAL_SUBSTRATE.md` and the approved PRD and MVP references. If the approved scope is unclear, get the maintainer decision before implementation.\n\nThe proposal names `main` as the integration branch, but upstream contribution guidance also describes `develop`. Get the maintainer decision before submission.\n\nReuse the existing checkpoint, replay, trajectory and reproducibility mechanisms before you add another implementation. Keep the safety boundary independent of ordinary organism behavior.\n\nUse the upstream build instructions for the reviewed revision. Do not install hardware drivers or spend provider funds only to find out whether a command works.\n\nLabel research claims as implemented, experimental, proposed or speculative under the upstream rules.\n\nThe contributor must personally author any new outside issue. Do not create issues, placeholder PRs or claims through the skill.\n\nIn the PR, explain the defect, approved requirement, useful result, reuse, alternatives, exact-head commands and remaining limits.","supportedTasks":"- Fix an approved defect in the developmental substrate or the neuromorphic backend.\n- Materially improve a required experiment, such as the same-genome/different-world experiment.\n- Fix checkpoint, replay or trajectory comparison behavior, reusing the existing mechanisms.","requiredTests":"Record the base and head, experiment configuration, seeds, environment and `ReproducibilityManifest`. Also run the required root build, tests, formatting and lint checks.\n\nBackend changes: also provide the biological justification and Fly Benchmark evidence.\n\nProve the affected workflow before and after the repair.\n\nUI changes: desktop and mobile, keyboard, zoom, accessibility, and console and network evidence, plus an uploaded walkthrough.","reviewExpectations":"- Does the same `ReproducibilityManifest`, seed and configuration produce the claimed trajectory within the stated tolerance? Inspect the complete comparison, not a favorable aggregate.\n- Does checkpoint restore preserve organism and environment state? Do exact, approximate and non-reproducible results stay distinct?\n- Can ordinary organism behavior change its own safety controls? Check the affected boundary in code, not architecture prose.\n- Are claims labeled accurately? A simulated behavior does not establish consciousness, biological accuracy or physical-device performance.\n- Does the change reuse existing checkpoint, telemetry and replay mechanisms?\n- Developmental changes: run the affected Rust and Python workflow and the same-genome/different-world experiment. Backend changes: verify the biological justification and Fly Benchmark result.\n- Do results match the exact head, inputs, toolchain and environment?\n\nKeep missing evidence distinct from a confirmed defect.
